Hi Guys:

I want to start this letter off by saying that the staff at the New York office is fantastic! From Diana to Rebecca along with Tyuan, all I can say is WOW! what a great team you have.

My other comment is about all of the other salons telling me that you can’t have a great looking hairline if you have “Black Hair“! I used to be a Hair Club client and I had to where my hair down covering my forehead. I hated that look. Heck I’m over 50 not 20. It was also very embarrassing to say the least when I woke up in the morning and had to look around the bed for my so called hair system.

Well I guess the proof is in the pudding as one might say. Richard, you were 100% right when you said that you were the only guy in the USA that could create an undetectable hair system using black hair for me. Well I attached two photos one with my hair down in the front (Hair Club), and a close up with my new hairline.

If anyone reads this and thinks that Farrell can’t do the same for you, then remember this the next time when you are having a conversation with someone and they start staring at your head.

I just wanted you to know that I was very pleased with my hair system. Mary Davis gave me excellent service when I went to have my cut in done in Atlanta. She was very professional, compassionate, and pleasant. I also was made to feel very welcome by Tommy. The salon was very nice and they both made me feel very special, and not just another number.

I am attaching some before and after photos. I am very talented in styling hair and this system gives me a lot of flexibility. If you ever need a model, I would be willing to be one. They also took some digital photos at the shop.

Dear Dylan,

Where do I begin to let you and Richard and Gosia and Robert know how completely satisfied this former fearful pessimist is today after my cut-in and the incredible experience of looking in the mirror and seeing the person I haven’t seen for a long, long time? At each step of the way, you were all there to answer all my questions and provide me with the facts that I needed to overcome my hesitance and go for it! Thank you everybody. It was so worth it!

Dylan, it was a long process, I know! I had been through a terrible experience with a totally inferior competitor and had spent thousands of dollars on transplants with disappointing results over the years – all of which left me with so many doubts and fears. But your patience, positiveness and attentiveness to all my concerns made this amazing new feeling possible. Knowing I was talking to someone who knew exactly how I was feeling just helped so much. The results are beyond anything I had imagined!
Gosia is a true artist and professional. Her eye for color and her skillful work with the scissors are truly exceptional. Hello Everyone,

It is with enthusiasm and awe that I write this letter of gratitude for my hair systems. I am so delighted to have won them! Dylan, you will never know just how much I sincerely appreciate being the “winner”! My self-esteem has increased 99.9%! To God be the glory! Everyone was so right about Erin. She worked wonders on my head.

When I look in the mirror, I can’t believe how beautiful I am! My husband of 30 years-plus says that I have always been beautiful to him, but he must admit, “That new hairdo makes you look 15 years younger!” Equally important, last night, I did a workshop on “Parenting” with young, African-American girls. None of them had ever seen me before. During our break, some of their remarks about my hair were unbelievable. “Mrs. G, I love your hair.” Another young lady (15 years old) commented, “Do you have ‘good’ hair?” …Smile… Needless to say, I was elated. It was not the “good” hair comments that made me feel so good about myself. Rather, it was the fact that I have a hair system that looks just like my “real hair”. For a moment, I totally forgot that I have lupus. What still amazes me is the natural part in the middle, front. Dylan, can you imagine? I haven’t shown my whole face since I was 28, (20 years ago!) due to baldness, caused by the lupus.

Thanks to you, Erin for doing such a wonderful job. Had it not been for your creativity and patience, my new look would not be this gorgeous! You are indeed a professional “artiste.” Your presence and encouraging remarks made an otherwise depressing, discouraging visit positively memorable. I am truly grateful.

Richard, you were absolutely correct in your assessment of Erin. She did an excellent job on my head. Erin is one of the best in the business. But more importantly, it was not just her creativity; she knows how to treat her clients; how to make us feel at ease. My life will never be the same because of her talent, your generosity, Jeff’s gentle professionalism, and most of all, Dylan’s kindness, professionalism and patience with me.

It has been a month since my cut-in in Los Angeles and I cannot believe how my life has changed. I had always been put off by the rhetoric of hair replacement and I’m sorry to say that it was one of the things that put me off even about Farrell as I decided where to go. Thank you to you and Richard for the kindness and extra attention you gave me in New York City this past week. As I know you know, this has been a very difficult transition for me and Andy, surviving the cancer, losing my hair and now trying to get my appearance back. Richard, you have a very happy client here finally. I feel badly that I was such a pain in the ass during the tweaking period because I honestly didn’t see how this was going to work. I went through a nightmare situation at Hair Club and I was afraid the same thing would happen. I didn’t see how the fine tuning was going to make much of a difference, but it made all the difference in the world. It has now been months and none of the guys at work have said a thing about my hair and construction guys are merciless. They think I lost weight or am styling my hair differently. But they pretty much have moved on and forgotten that I was losing my hair and just accept the new me. This was the ultimate test. I don’t know if you’ll remember me from my initial design session in Buckhead back in December before Christmas. We had a long conversation about mountain climbing in Alaska? Anyway I am a very, very satisfied client. I got my hair rushed so that I could be prepared for my industry Expo in Cleveland last week. I am attaching a PDF of my company newsletter so you can see the article on my presentation at the Expo. It says: “He came, he spoke, he conquered”.

That is me. I have done these Expos over the past three years, but this one was different. I have always been a decent speaker but never accused of being “dynamic.” Wearing my hair gave me a boost of confidence that is hard to believe. I know it carries over to other parts of my life, too. Hi Richard! We started rehearsals yesterday and I want to share with you what all went down because I obviously had to tell them about my hair:

1. my hair dresser could not believe that I was wearing hair and she has worked in the film industry here in new york for many years. She said it was the best she has ever seen!

2. The stage makeup team could not believe in how non detectable my hair is.

3. three hours of dancing and the new adhesive helped. Tackying it with my finger seemed to make it hold, even though I was sweating a lot. Woops, women don’t sweat, they perspire.

4. When we watched the video to see our synchs, I watched myself and my hair and my hair does act like it did before. I am so happy! I think you should think about telling the stage world of what you do because they have not seen this type of level of work.

I know that having my beautiful hair helped me to land this job because when I look pretty, I feel pretty and act pretty. My dancing never has held me back like my feelings have in the past. I have Laura and you to thank.

I don’t know what the format is going to be but I’m confident that I can get the point across that I have been a client since 1996. I had been a member of Hair Club for Men, Apollo, HairArt and a few other companies who took my money in exchange for ridiculous hairpieces. Then I came to Farrell. How can I thank you? My cut-in yesterday exceeded my expectations just as I was promised. I have been wearing hair for almost ten years and this hair system far and away is the best I have ever seen or worn. I can’t believe that I wore my old hair pieces for so long before changing. I didn’t want to be disappointed again by another company. I didn’t want to feel victimized again by another company. So I just stayed in denial. I was telling Goshia and Laura that my own mother had actually cut out a Farrell advertisement from the newspaper years ago and I never called because I didn’t believe the photos in the ad were real. I believed it was a scam. My wife, Christy, who you met at my design appointment, found you on the internet and I still wasn’t ready. When I took my company photo for our Annual Meeting back in August I thought I was going to die of embarrassment. All of the sudden, I saw the silliness of what I was doing and I called Farrell that day. We went out to dinner and dancing at Universal Studios last night. I know you read these things all of the time, but I have to say that I had a great time. I feel like a new person. Thank you.

I think that before I leave LA I would like to pick up some more supplies. Will the salon be open tomorrow? If not, I would like to have some supplies fed exed to me at the earliest possible time.

I got my hair system on Saturday 5/10/03 and I wanted you to know that my expectations were not met. You see, when I got home after having my system cut in, I expected my 18, 16, and 13 year old sons, who had constantly teased me about going bald, to hit me with a barrage of jokes. Instead, all I got was compliment after compliment on how natural it looked and felt, how they couldn’t tell where system stopped and my real hair started, and that I looked a lot younger. It brought tears to my eyes.

Next, I went to a mother’s day party for my mother-in-law on Sunday, and all I got there was compliments from everybody on how good my new hairstyle looked. Including my brother and sister-in-law, they own a hair salon, and complain about how bad the hair is for hair extensions that a lot of women are doing now. They couldn’t believe how good it looked, and said if I hadn’t told them what it was, they would have never guessed.

I’m now at work. I have worked for this company for 25 years, and a lot of the people I have worked with for over 15 years. Now I don’t just pass these people in the halls, we only have 25 employees and most of them I’ve worked with in the shop when we have to build our equipment. I’ve worked very close to them over the years, where if someone hasn’t taken a shower, you would know it. Not one person knew what was done, not even the owner, and all I said was that I got my hair cut and styled. Not one of the men ribbed me, and not any of the women in the office, didn’t compliment me. Again, I expected to justify to everyone, why I did this, and as a consultation for my expected embarrassment, to try to get a referral fee from the many people that I know that are or are going bald. I now know that’s just a fantasy, and there is no way I’m going to tell them unless they know, and I just don’t see that happening.

Finally, later today I’m taking my son to the Dr. and my Ex-wife will be there. She has not said one kind word to me in the last 10 years, and I just know after the last few days, that I will get a compliment from her, and I’m not sure I know how to handle that. I’ll let you know what happens.

I think you should list some major side effects of your system:

1) Wrinkles around the mouth from smiling so much.
2) Sudden urge to buy a new car and clothes.
3) Lack of sleep from you and your wife wanting to make love, all the time

Let’s be honest. I used to be a bit of a skeptic. Your claim that FARRELL could “make a positive improvement” to my life once sounded more like hype than meaningful prediction. Richard Farrell has quite simply changed my life. He didn’t “replace” my hair, he “restored” it to exactly as it was before I began losing my hair. I now have restored confidence in my life from my professional office and business contacts to social functions and intimate relations.

Having been a hair wearer for several years, and using my own front hairline to hide the piece successfully undetected for all of that time, I found that my own front hair was thinning. It was becoming harder and more time consuming to camouflage the piece behind the patch of my front hair. Along with that, I was more or less handcuffed into the exact same hairstyle every day.

Reluctantly and nervously I went to see Richard Farrell in NYC. Thinking,”well I’ll meet with him, but I don’t really think I can sacrifice shaving off my own front hair”. The only security I knew. I met with Richard himself and discussed the possibilities. He was very friendly, open, direct and honest about my options. There was no sales pitch or pressure … just sincere conversation. The examples he showed me of his hairlines were unbelievable and undetectable. I went home and discussed it with my wife. Again,I didn’t really know about making such a big change. I even questioned the fact that looking at his amazing front line was one thing, but seeing it actually bonded on my head was another. How could I really know what it looked like on my head? Richard surprised me by having a front made matching my hair color … and bonded it on to show me. That definitely helped to convince me.

About a week later after much more thinking, and surprising even myself, I figured : “What’s the worst case scenario here?” If I don’t like it, I grow my hair back and go back to the familiar solution. Maybe with a less dense unit behind my own hairline. I went back to Farrell, and we designed the hairline together. Which I appreciated. There was no, “Let me just do this … and tell you how you’re going to look”.

I played a large part in deciding the look, shape and density of the new front hairline. Believe me when I say that at the other place … what came in … was what went on my head. I had no say in the shape or density. I guess that’s why you want custom made pieces. When the units were ready I made an appointment with Richard to cut them in. Again, you cannot fathom the depth of angst and worry in my entire body about making this huge change and commitment. I can honestly say that once the cut in was over … there were no doubts left.

Not only is the hairline gorgeous and undetectable, but it allows me to have my hair any length, and style it any way I choose. I could not do that before switching over to the Farrell system. I did have to make certain adjustments and get used to how the new system works. But every step of the way … with any problems I had … any questions I had … everyone at the NY office was incredibly helpful and supportive. I never felt neglected, brushed off, or like a number. (That was my experience at the other place. Waiting hours at their salon … while the stylist jumped from room to room trying to handle 4 people at the same appointment time.) That hardly makes you feel like a “valued customer”. Anyway, I am a perfectionist in most areas of my life. Especially when it comes to my appearance. Being an actor … your appearance is everything. There is no compromising that.
I can truthfully say that Richard is also a perfectionist. And though perhaps I may have driven him crazy with small details, he never got annoyed.(Or at least if he did, he never let me know it.) He worked very hard to meet all of my expectations. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I cannot come up with any more word other than: Thank you Richard, for your hard work and superior product. It is indeed amazing, and as close to the real thing as you can get. To back that up … here are pictures of my new Farrell front line.

Please accept my sincerest thanks for your efforts yesterday. It truly exceeded my wildest expectations and I cannot possibly thank you enough.

If I was inarticulate with my thanks and my praise of your work, it was because I was genuinely dumbfounded – speechless in every sense of the word.

When I got home, my family honestly thought I got it styled a different way (which I found stunning). They were shocked to hear to truth – quite amazing to witness their confused reactions.

My mom brought out pictures from 5 years ago and I truly looked the same as I did before – in terms of style, texture, look, color, everything.

Even though I know that your operation is a business, there seems to be an amazing charitable and human interest element to your work which I am sure gives both you and Laura a great deal of personal satisfaction.
